Adult Basic Education

The ABE Program of the Susquehanna County Literacy Program offers one-on-one tutoring to students who perform at the 0-8 level of reading and math skills. In addition, we offer GED prep in a small group classroom setting.

Through the use of Volunteer Tutors we impart a minimum of 3 hours of instruction per week to the student. The pairs meet at a mutually convenient location at a time that is agreeable to both of the student and tutor. Many students and tutors meet more often depending on their schedules.

The Susquehanna County Literacy Program is FREE and CONFIDENTIAL.

We provide our clients with a thorough assessment process and a well proven instructional curriculum. Whether you are a poor reader, math challenged, in need of your GED, want to balance your checkbook, or need instruction in math or reading at any level we can provide the help you need!

Basic Skills classes are held 9 a.m. to noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and 4:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursdays.
